LEDA Virtual Job Fair

 

Employers interested in posting their job openings on the LEDA Virtual job fair (at no cost) can send job description, qualifications, and application method to LEDA's Director of Workforce Development by email.


In addition to posting your vacancies on LEDA's website, positions are also distributed to a network of workforce centers and educational institutions as appropriate.





Position: DOT DRIVER TRAINER

To provide the highest possible level of customer service to our internal & external customers by leading a trainee to follow all rules set forth by the FMCSA along with meeting or exceeding UV Logistics safety standards including but not limited to load securement. Provide feedback to Operations and Safety teams regarding the trainee’s abilities to provide said service within a time frame of 7 days of the start of training. This individual will need to project a level of professionalism that exceeds normal standards of all commercial drivers.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Insure Trainee is able to perform the basic task from beginning to end of orders dispatched to them.
• Instruct Trainee on UVL standards of load securement along with the standards of the FMCSA. Insure Trainee knows and will be able to determine if standards meet and exceed requirements of the FMCSA and know the difference between the two.
• Evaluate the Trainees defensive driving skills and offer feedback to Trainee
• Insure Trainee is fluent in completing all required documentation for invoicing once dispatched order is completed. Example: Proper documentation of waiting/detention time, hazmat, stop overs, etc.
• Provide feedback of progress or lack of, to the Regional Safety and Operations Manager at the end of each day.
• Conduct driving test for potential upgrade in vehicle type to current qualified Drivers.
• When not training, will be required to participate in other projects up to and including driver safety training, truck pushing etc.
• When needed, may be utilized to teach our new driver orientation.
Qualifications/Experience:
• Maintain a current Class A Commercial Drivers License (HazMat and Tankers Endorsements)
• Maintain a current DOT physical
• Coordinate and plan for daily instruction, insuring proper utilization of time and equipment
• Present instruction in a professional and timely manner consistent with company policies and all Federal, State, and Local laws
• Serve as a “Role Model” as to dress, conduct and attitude
• 3 years minimum tandem operating experience
• 2 years minimum flatbed experience
• Preferred classroom teaching experience

Specific Requirements/Competencies:
This person must demonstrate superior decision-making skills in an extremely time-sensitive work environment on behalf of the Company. This person must also demonstrate confidence in making safety related judgment calls on matters affecting critical customer service issues. This person must also possess strong organizational skills for prioritizing workload.

$45,000 TO $50,000
