Position Description:

• This role will be responsible for supporting our software development teams under a DBA capacity and working under the agile methodology.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our infrastructure is safe, qualified, and optimized for its purpose.
• They will collaborate closely with developers and delivery teams, helping set the right vision and strategy.
• This position can be performed in either Bloomfield, CT (Preferred), Raleigh, NC, Austin, TX, Lafayette, LA, or Chattanooga, TN.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Work in an onshore-offshore model, with 4-5 offshore developers.
• Perform engineering best practices.
• Agile Ceremonies – Participate and Contribute
• Applications Development: Analysis, Design, Development, Testing
• Support: QE Testing, Volume Testing, Implementation, Warranty, Team Members
• Provide day-to-day support for Oracle databases aligned to applications.
• Provide database administration for a variety of mission-critical custom and packaged software applications.
• Design storage strategies around backup and recovery for complex database environments, physical structures, and specialized database applications.
• Partner with agile project teams and interact with enterprise DBAs to find solutions for projects and operational issues in existing and proposed databases.
• Act as a liaison serving as primary point of contact between application development segments and database administrators.
• Provide standardization and consistency across environments.
• Ensure a stable and secure database environment.
• Implement and monitor database functionality to ensure stable environments.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Minimum of at least 6+ years of experience in Oracle Application DBA with (3+ years Linux, Unix, Windows), Application Support, and Oracle 18C, preferred recent 19C experience.
• Experience with both relational and non-relational DB’s like DB2, Mongo, SQL.
• Expert level knowledge of stored procedures, SQL, SQL queries and performance optimization.
• Experienced in performance tuning and optimization analysis, troubleshooting/best practices and procedures.
• Ability to mentor/supplement DBA team members.
• Administration of Oracle distributed implementations, including database definition, structure, documentation and long-range requirements.
• Oracle Application DBA experience, Oracle 19C, Golden Gate experience is nice to have, Experience with Materialized Views, experience with Qlik, Linux, Mongo and DB2 (nice to have), scripting experience, Query tuning and optimization, Capacity, storage and performance assessment and recommendation experience.
• Experience with CICD tools – GIT, Jenkins, SonarQube, Checkmarx.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
