Mission

To evaluate the current landscape within the Greater Acadiana Region for supporting the goal of placing the region as a key center for supporting all aspects of the bio-based fuels and chemicals industry while also identifying potential changes to this landscape that will foster significant improvements to the goal.  Note that feedstock production, bio-based product manufacturing, and industry building aspects are all of great interest to this initiative.

Data Request

1. Identify current and potential regional feedstocks (both traditional and innovative) to produce bio-based products within the region and/or State of Louisiana.

2. Identify technologies that appear to have the greatest potential for eventually becoming a stable industry (think nationally and then globally).

3. Identify roadblocks toward making the Greater Acadiana Region a key regional, national, and international center for alternative energy companies.

4. Identify existing and near-term potential centers located elsewhere (both nationally and internationally

5. Identify important stakeholders that can add value to the region.

6. Identify key roadblocks hindering the growth of these industries within the Greater Acadiana Region, Louisiana, the US, and globally.

7. What could LEDA or government leadership do to enhance this chance of the vision being realized.

8. Provide direct comments detailing the potential for the mission of this initiative to be realized and provide insight into this opinion.

9. Describe current and needed regional industrial/commercial assets needed to meet the goal of this initiative.

10. Address detailed questions to be provided to the group at a later date.
