Publicly owned and operated, Lafayette Utilities System is providing the City of Lafayette with electric, water, and wastewater services that are amongst the lowest priced in the state. Other private companies are providing electrical power, natural gas, and waste disposal to municipalities in Lafayette Parish. Fiber Optic Communications are currently being provided by LUS, as the core loop of the fiber network has already been installed and is being extended to homes, schools and businesses.
