Business Retention and Expansion Visitation Program Objectives

Short Term

*Provide community support for local business.
*Solve immediate individual business concerns.

Long Term

*Increase the competitiveness of local establishments.
*Establish and implement a strategic action plan for economic development.

The LEDA BR&E Visitation Program can make local businesses more competitive by evaluating and addressing their broader needs and concerns.  Businesses that stay competitive are more likely to remain in the community and possibly expand.  The program establishes an economic development plan for Lafayette Parish.

Program Structure

Visitation Meeting: The BR&E Department is proactive in contacting businesses to meet with the owner or manager.  A survey tailored for Lafayette Parish is used for the interviews.  The survey pinpoints business needs, concerns and development opportunities.  LEDA conducts hundreds of unique visits each year with businesses in Lafayette Parish.  Individual company data is kept strictly confidential.

Follow-up:  LEDA reviews the survey results and responds to the needs and concerns expressed by the business by providing support and information, or mobilizing resources within or outside of Lafayette Parish.

If you would like to set up a meeting to learn more about how LEDA can work for your business, email Mark Mouton or call (337) 593-1409.
