JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Responsible for the programming and operating of CNC mills and lathes


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Analyzes blue prints for required tooling, material, and lead time
  • May pull required fixtures, holding devices and materials
  • Inserts tools in tool holders or installs per-set tools in machine
  • Sets and sharpens tools as necessary
  • Adjusts tool travel distances
  • Inputs required program instructions
  • Monitors machine operations, inspects machined parts to ensure job specifications are maintained
  • Other duties may be assigned


JOB TASKS:

  • Assess and mitigate safety and environmental risks
  • Study blueprints or other instructions to determine equipment setup requirements([1])
  • Plan production or operational procedures or sequences
  • Program equipment to perform production tasks
  • Determine production equipment setting
  • Select production equipment according to product specifications
  • Conduct test runs of production equipment
  • Enter commands, instructions, or specifications into equipment
  • Calculate dimensions of work-pieces, products, or equipment
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance / housekeeping
  • Draw guide lines or markings on materials or work-pieces using patterns or other references
  • Mount materials or work-pieces onto production equipment
  • Position patterns on equipment, materials, or work-pieces
  •  Redline (edit) diagrams or blueprints for work pieces or products


Qualifications:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Capable of reading and comprehending ANSI Y 14.5 prints
  • Maintain good housekeeping habits
  • Maintain program data base and CNC documentation
  • Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement efforts


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years in manufacturing environment compliant to ISO9001:2008 AS9100


KNOWLEDGE:

  • Computers and Electronics — Basic knowledge of electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming
  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Mathematics — Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
  • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
  • English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
