Description:

  • The Director of Tax Strategies & Compliance will be responsible for all tax matters, lead all efforts to identify, plan, develop and execute strategic tax initiatives and oversee day-to-day business operations to benefit the Company’s financial results.
  • The Director of Tax will be further responsible for creating strong processes to ensure the completeness and accuracy of all tax reporting and filings and ensure compliance with domestic and limited international tax requirements.
  • Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will join forces with the Finance and Operations Teams to develop and guide tax processes, which are instrumental in the Company’s overall financial management strategy.  
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional leaders as well as executive leaders and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, high growth environment.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • All tax matters of the Company, including strategy, planning and compliance
  • Prepare all federal, state and international tax work papers and work with outside consultants to oversee the preparation and filing of these returns
  • Prepare and file state and local sales tax and Canadian VAT returns
  • Represent the Company in all tax inquiries and audits by third parties
  • Identify, analyze, and communicate complex tax issues and their impact on the Company and its operations to key stakeholders
  • Lead and develop a robust tax team to support business operations and strategic initiatives
  • Work with various functional teams to identify and assess tax opportunities and proactively address tax exposures through the design of processes and procedures
  • Stay current on new tax laws, rulings, and cases affecting individual and entities


Qualifications:

Skills & Experience:

  • Must possess active credential: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) with 7 or more years of recent experience
  • Strong tax experience with recent exposure to high income and complex federal and multiple state partnership, S-Corp and C-Corp tax returns
  • Experience with multi-state sales and use tax compliance
  • Audit experience a plus (IRS and state tax authorities)
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, research skills and determination
  • Ability to prioritize various projects and effectively communicate with others
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Enjoys implementing process strategies
