Description

  • An Information Security Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the company’s virtual assets.
  • You will use your skills to investigate potential threats, create summaries of trends that will help Information Security Administrators determine needed changes and improvements, enforce governance policies and utilize a broad range of specialized security products to protect sensitive information. 


 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine software configuration or system functional specifications 
  • Be able to develop, document, analyze, testing and modify of computer systems or programs, including Cisco security suite 
  • Monitor and report on Cisco ThreatX, SecureX, Email Security, Umbrella and DNA Essentials and any other Netflow-type applications for alerts and trends 
  • Collects data to research; provide summarizations of trends to manager 
  • Protects against unauthorized access, modification or destruction of company information assets 
  • Works with end users to determine needs of individual departments; Assist in resolving conflicts between security requirements and business workflow 
  • Implements defined policies and procedures and tracks compliance throughout the organization 
  • Receives and processes computer documents and agreements to maintain security 
  • Completes other missions relating to information systems: updating, configuring, installing 
  • Takes advantage of education opportunities to keep job knowledge updated for zero day threats 


Qualifications:

Skills: 

  • Statistical analysis skills 
  • Report generation and formatting skills 
  • Ability to work independently and resolve issues 


Qualities: 

  • Ability to work constructively with internal customers and external vendors 
  • Friendly communication skills 


Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • At least one year of experience in related field 
  • Certifications in Information Security desired 
  • Familiarity in AWS Security products desired
  • Ability to work on call as needs arise potentially including after hours and weekends 
  • Familiarity with firewall and switch administration and network security 
  • Knowledge of research techniques and information security policies with emphasis on NIST Cyber Security
