DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures Quality Engineering, Inspection and Auditor resources are in place to support surveillance activity and upcoming deliverables.
  • Flows Program and Quality related information to Quality Team and ensure priorities are communicated and understood.
  • Reviews Quality data for trends (favorable or unfavorable) and performs root cause analysis and corrective action as needed.
  • Collaborates with Engineering & Technology, Production and Operations regarding process questions or changes.
  • Provides Quality activity progress updates and accomplishments to program leadership and senior leadership in support of regular business rhythm.
  • Manages Quality Management System (QMS), process creation, updates, and compliance.
  • Manages Quality instrument calibration systems.
  • Supports manufacturing by managing Quality inspection process output and delivering timecritical components to execute on the master schedule and respond to unanticipated changes in production.
  • Continuous process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Manages Drug and Alcohol Testing program.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.


Qualifications:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • The Quality Manager (QM) will lead the Quality Team and manage the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) ensuring compliance to industry standards, contractual requirements, and customer expectations.
  • The QM serves as a SME for Quality (Process, Compliance, Customer, Program Management, Functions) and leads the Quality Team and the Company in all aspects including Product Quality, Systems & Software Quality, Supplier Quality and Production Operations Quality through all areas of the program /product lifecycle.
  • The QM ensures communication and flow down of requirements to internal teams and the external supply base.
  • The QM may also supplement Quality team surveillance as required.
  • The QM is responsible to develop and manage the Quality program budget, analyzes quality performance data (manufacturing data and engineering design metrics), identifies recurring issues, drives root cause analysis and corrective actions, partners with internal and external customers regarding solution concerns, and raises quality performance issues to senior leadership as needed.


JOB REQUIREMENTS & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working in Quality / Supplier Quality.
  • 3+ years of experience auditing to quality system standards.
  • 3+ years of experience working with blueprints, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures.
  • 3+ years of experience taking data and deriving meaningful information through analysis and data visualization.
  • 3+ years of experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and implementing corrective actions.
  • 3+ years of experience working with quality systems: (ISO9001) and Aerospace Standard (AS9100).


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills working within a diverse environment and across many disciplines.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills.
  • Project and team leadership skills.
  •  Understanding of Quality processes, methods and industry standards for development and manufacturing.
  •  Experience in Process and performance measurement: developing, collecting, and analyzing metrics.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certified Greenbelt a plus.
  • Working knowledge and experience with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.


DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Self-starter who is detail oriented, well organized, and able to self-prioritize and complete tasks within in a dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Organized and self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to build and provide briefings and status reports.
  • Formal Lead Auditor Training / Certification (ISO9001, AS9100) a plus.
  • Formal Root Cause Analysis Training / Certification a plus.
  • Understanding of basic Supplier Quality processes.
  • Epicor ERP / MRP experience a plus, but not necessary.
  • Excellent knowledge of planning and quality control principles.
  • Critical thinker who can offer recommendations for different and more efficient ways to view quality and program performance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in quality analysis and process creation and management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently and effectively, while meeting production deadlines.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.


TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Moderate work involving: Handling, Talking, Reaching, Crouching, Walking, Stooping, Pushing, Pulling, Kneeling, Grasping, Feeling, Hearing, Standing, Visual Acuity, Small Motor Skills, Repetitive Motions, Lifting (up to 30 lbs.)


TYPICAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Worker is subject to inside environmental conditions.
  • May have temperature changes due to activities inside a machine shop.
  • There is sufficient noise may cause the worker to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level.
  • Includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and electrical current.
  • One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: Fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
